Most towns and settlements, between Auckland and Ruapehu, have at least one golf course.
Apart from city courses, most have vacancies for casual players, at least on weekdays and Sundays.
In particular, though, New Zealand is fortunate in having a great many good quality country courses,
and where fees are cheap, for affiliated golfers, varying from about $25 to about $40. Many of
